Delivery Costs By Courier And Haulage Companies

Response: I thought the whole point of bidding was to win the bid, waiting to bid should not be detrimental on price. We just happen to be in both locations on the dates stated in bid details, simple as that. I was willing to go lower but if you had accepted the bid £1.00 higher then you should have closed the bidding and accepted it. Kind regards - I will asume this is now closed - (22/11 at 8:41 PM)

Response: I have been told about this site and it's usefulness, I had not planned to make this purchase but took the opportunity while available, i wanted to look and see if someone else could do it cheaper than my fuel bill, as long as thats the case when I need to have it picked up a courier will make the delivery, i have accepted no bids as yet and will make a decision during the week, there are no dates stated in the listing, i have left both the pickup and drop off dates flexible to try and suit the courier, i am in no hurry fot the item, i just want it here in one peice, flexible dates must be an advantage to couriers - (22/11 at 10:11 PM)

Response: Thanks for taking the time out to reply - Given the round trip is over 1000 miles and at least £200 in fuel plus two nights away and some 22 hrs driving, I am sure you can see the disadvantage of you doing this yourself. Flexible dates are helpful. However, if our drivers are passing the collection and delivery points several times over several weeks it is rather pointless in our humble opinion bidding on a declining basis as the margin for viability declines. With the festive season on the horizon and poor weather looming it makes sense to us for our company to offer services when we can guarantee delivery at a fee you feel fair.... - (22/11 at 11:07 PM)

Response: I can fully appreciate the advantages of this site, it has been a long time coming, don't really understand the term 'rather pointless in our humble opinion bidding on a declining basis', bids in now make it viable to use a courier, a courier from this site will be used, if you are the lowest bidder then it will be yourselves picking it up, many thanks for your time - (23/11 at 4:22 PM)

Response: Hi and thanks for taking the time to reply - As the bid figure has declined it is now no longer viable for us to bid. However, I am confident you will get lower bids but in my opinion there comes a point where "service" is lost and cost is king and that makes for potential problems....just my opinion. best of luck - (24/11 at 6:41 PM)
