How to transport a chaise longue
Moving regular sofas can cause a bit of a headache, but a chaise longue can be even more of a worry as it is more exposed fabric and slightly more delicate. However there is no need to worry, here’s a few tips that could come in useful.
Preparing the chaise longue
Firstly remove any cushions from the chaise longue, these can be transported separately. If there are no removable then don’t worry.
Next is to cover the chaise longue with a blanket or soft material, this cover should then be covered with another lining, this can be done by taping bin bags around the chair, making sure that there are no exposed fabrics.
By lining the chaise longue with these layers it protects the fabric from any dirt that may be picked up whilst in the transport vehicle, also make sure to do this with any cushions that have been removed from the chaise longue.
It is probably advisable to have another pair of hands to help move the chaise longue around as although probably not the heaviest item its size will make it difficult for just one person to move.
Transportation
When booking a large item delivery service through Shiply or indeed anywhere, you should try and gauge whether or not the driver will be working alone or be accompanied by a drivers mate. If they do work alone, it is often expected that you, the customer can assist at pickup and drop-off locations (especially if the goods are particularly large and/or heavy).
Make sure when placed in the van that the chaise longue is secured to stop it moving around during the journey and also make sure that nothing is placed on top of the chaise longue that could move about causing damage.
